This online community is a way for students to connect globally with other AMPP student members, helping each other develop and evolve. This community is to facilitate discussions about the different corrosion programs at different academic institutions world-wide, which could help students network as well as potentially decide where they would like to continue their studies/career.

Entering college and finishing this 4 year+ task is one of the most challenging achievements in life which, in many countries, it can be a very expensive investment. Besides the learning and fun time, during college, many students might have uncountable questions lingering in their minds but one of them, for sure would likely be: Will I find a job after graduating?

To help you be prepared during this so called young-professional-transition time, we've created this thread with tips and hints from HR experts and experienced Corrosion professionals.

This thread was specially crafted for you to keep updated about the work force, ask job-related questions and be familiar on how senior engineers, technical professionals and professors perceive the Corrosion & Coating job industry.

We would like to say a special thanks to the NACE British Columbia Student Section Chairman, Yousef Azimi that made an extensive survey to get important questions from students in the Canadian area. "We sent the questionnaire to different engineering departments at UBC and also to other universities in British Columbia", he says.

"I think we can be more successful if all of us share our ideas and events here with each other, especially this year that we are facing unique challenges," Azimi added.

Thank you very much for your help and support Ingrid.
We 've already interviewed several members of the industry in BC and we are planning to continue these interviews as we received positive feedbacks from both grad and undergrad students. We can not wait to see how NACE corrosion professionals have answered students' questions. We are confident it will be a great resource for all of us and will help us to adopt to the new situation and prepare ourselves for post-covid job market.
    Best,
    Yousef
