Document experience with equipment and materials, disseminate information on life assessment techniques for solving industry problems.

  • 1.  Clarity about Inorganic Zinc Paint

    Inorganic Zinc Paint is applied on a external surface of boiler, economizer and stack where maximum operating temperature is 227 C, Can thermal insulation be applied on external surface after inorganic zinc paint ?? Because as per NACE SPO 198 Clause 4.3.5 inorganic zinc paint can not be used of temperature range of 50 to 175 C.

    Please clarify.

    Thank you for the question.
    Some of our products state a dry heat resistance (ASTM D2485) above this temperature, so I will need to review the specification.
    There is a secondary concern of what are you planning to insulate with, since CUI is a concern.
