Have been work for more than 33 years providing technical solutions especially for refinery, petrochemical, power plant, and industrial facilities as a material and corrosion specialist. Based on fundamental knowledge and experience, I have designed basic material selection and its application, corrosion control and monitoring methodology and managed many harsh works and provide solution for each technical trouble shooting.
Participating in many technical societies such as NACE, AWS, KWJS, CSSK, etc. Appointed as a technical director for KWJS (The Korean Welding and Joining Society) and CSSK (The Corrosion Science Society of Korea). Registered as a member in good standing of NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers).
Voluntarily participate in the standard generation and maintenance work for KS (the Korean Standard), KEPIC (the Korean Electric Power Industry Code), and KGS Code (Korean Gas Technical Standard) Committee for material application aspect and be a Standard Technical Group (STG) member of NACE Code via ballots. Participate in writing ‘Standard Specification for Steel Structure Construction – The Korean Society of Steel Construction’ as an auditor.
Provide technical consulting on material application, troubleshooting, do Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on damaged facilities and offer practical guidance to those in need of corrections and/or risk avoidance. I conducted many technical seminars and training programs, and provide engineering practice guides for standards, codes, and job specifications related to material selection and handling.
Have worked as an expert by being appointed as a technical advisor or audit committee member of many government agencies such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation.
Published a total of 11 (Eleven) technical books on materials and its applications for my juniors and colleagues by summarizing my past time experience and knowledge. And I have published many papers in scientific journals as follows.
Operating an ‘Open Technical Forum, www.technonet.co.kr’, for the information exchange and free technical consulting from 1999. Currently, about 50,000 members and 400 experts gather voluntarily to exchange skills and experiences.
