Ahmed Hammami is Principal Polymer Scientist, Composites, Shawcor Composite Systems. He provides technical leadership, consultation, and guidance towards the rapid evolution of composite material technologies and application of those technologies in Shawcor Composite Systems products.
Prior to joining Shawcor in 2014, Ahmed held various R&D and managerial positions for over 20 years with a leading global energy services company where he served as research director for 8 years. He recruited, mentored and led teams of professional Engineers and Scientists to solve a variety of hydrocarbon production/flow assurance related problems and developed novel composite technologies for subsurface monitoring of thermal enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications. He has over 25 published manuscripts and 15 granted patents.
Ahmed holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and a MS degree in Polymer Engineering, both from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary. He is registered Professional Engineer with APEGA since 1998 and SPE member since 1995
