AMPP SSPC certification updates

Starting May 1, 2024, all applicator/craftworker certifications will be in the AMPP brand. They will also have a standard renewal period of 4 years, and will no longer require a renewal exam. For renewals, all credentials will require 1,000 hours of work experience, except for CAS Level 2 which requires 1,500 hours and 72 hours of formal training.

IMPORTANT: For CAS renewals, you must meet the qualifications listed above. Please note that we no longer offer the option to retake the CAS Level 2 written exam if these qualifications are not met.  If you do not meet the renewal qualifications, you will need to re-enroll in the program as a new candidate.

Please note, there are no changes to the naming or other aspects of these certifications to keep them easily recognized in the field.

Certifications included:

  • Abrasive Blaster Certification (C7)
  • Spray Applicator Certification (C12)
  • Coatings Application Specialist (CAS) Level 2
  • Marine Plural Component (C14) Certification
  • Surface Preparation and Paint Application for Power Tool Cleaning Operators and Brush and Roll Paint Applicators (C6) Certification
  • Aerospace Coating Application Specialist (ACAS) Certification
  • Plural Component Application for Polyureas and High Solid Coatings (PLURAL)
