As a Member of the Policy Committee, this position serves as a strategic participant of the Policy Committee, which is a committee of the NACE Board of Directors.
Responsibilities Include:
This Committee is responsible for advising the Board and Executive Committee on matters of policy referred to it by these groups, on proposed changes to the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws, on actions taken by any group within the Association that are contrary to approved policies and procedures, on new or revised committee manuals, on disciplinary procedures, and other matters as established in this operating manual and the Bylaws of the Association.
Requirements:
- Attend the annual meeting of the Committee in-person during NACE’s annual conference (typically March or April) and during the year as often as necessary to conduct committee business, usually by remote access.
- Have a clear understanding of governance documents, and, specifically, the Association’s Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation and Committee manuals.
- Provide input on relevant items pertaining to policies and procedures of the Association as the Committee advises the Board, Executive Committee, and other committees.
- Cannot be currently serving on the NACE Board of Directors, Nominating Committee or other administrative committee.
- Non-profit organizational experience is helpful but not mandatory
- Service on NACE’s Policy Committee is without remuneration.
