New event will feature speakers from Benjamin Moore, IUPAT, and more.

MPI-logo-blk.pngWASHINGTON, D.C. - The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), together with The Master Painters Institute (MPI) will host a new event this summer to unite important players in commercial coatings for an exploration of the industry’s future.

The summit features a robust 2-day technical program and seeks new participants to join the MPI Standards Committee, an opportunity to play a role in the future of the coatings industry. Programming includes insights from coatings producers, end users, and those involved in the development of industry standards.

The event will introduce MPI’s new 500 series, a set of standards that specify coatings approved for Navy fuel-related assets; paint technology innovations such as antiviral paints, and a new MPI accreditation program to improve the quality and accountability of the architectural paints industry.

Featured presentations include:
  • Keynote: The Role of Standards in Coatings - Steve O'Neill, Chief Marketing Officer, Benjamin Moore
  • Use of MPI’s Standards in UFGS Documents by TriService Organizations (Army, Navy, Air Force, and NASA) - Brooke Divan, M.Sc., Director of Field Relations, USACE
  • Keynote: Economics Discussion - Current Issues - Kenneth Simonson, Chief Economist, Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)

The event will take place in Washington, D.C. from August 18-19, 2021 with options for virtual attendance for delegates worldwide. To register, visit mpisummit.nace.org.
