Coatings+ Opens with Phil Calvo Memorial Golf Tournament

  
Many Coatings+ attendees opted to start their week with a relaxing round of golf at Sunday’s Phil Calvo Memorial Golf Tournament. Held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. local time, the event allowed participants to play amid the McDowell Mountains at TPC Scottsdale’s renowned Champions Course.

Teams of four or individual players were welcomed to the competition, which took place about 25 miles northeast of where the Coatings+ conference is taking place throughout the week in downtown Phoenix.

Board of Directors members from the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) and the AMPP Global Center were on hand to show their support for the golfers, with Tim Bieri, Terry Greenfield, and Joe Walker among those watching at the course.

In the end, the winning teams were as follows:
  • First place: Brent Alexander, Robin MacLean, Tom Sulkowski, K.J. Mazurek
  • Second place: Nick Lamm, Derek Goff, Chris McDonald
  • Third place: Sam Scaturro, Ken Jaros, Bill Worms, Ben Scaturro

Sherwin-Williams was the awards sponsor for the golf tournament, and Joe Laehu, senior vice president of sales for the protective and marine division, was on hand to present the winners with their prizes.
