AMPP Signs Joint Standards Development Agreement with National Insulation Association

New Orleans, Louisiana – The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) and the National Insulation Association (NIA) have formalized a partnership with the signing of a Joint Standards Development Agreement by AMPP CEO Alan Thomas and NIA's Executive Vice President and CEO Michele Jones at the AMPP Annual Conference and Expo, aiming to establish a unified mechanical insulation standards program.

"On behalf of the AMPP community and its leaders, I am thrilled to express our gratitude as we initiate this collaborative journey with the National Insulation Association," said Kristin Leonard, AMPP Global Center Chair. "This partnership marks a pivotal advancement in enhancing the standards and efficiency of the insulation industry.”

The agreement is designed to facilitate joint standards development in areas related to mechanical insulation in the commercial and industrial markets. It encompasses thermal, acoustical, and personnel safety requirements in mechanical piping and equipment in hot and cold applications; heating, venting, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications; refrigeration and other low-temperature piping and equipment applications; and metal building insulation.

"This partnership represents a significant milestone for NIA and the broader insulation industry," stated Michele Jones, NIA's executive vice president and CEO. "By aligning our efforts with AMPP, we're not just setting new standards but driving standardization and efficiency in insulation applications across various sectors. This collaboration is a step forward in our commitment to sustainability, decarbonization, safety, and enhancing the value insulation brings to the global market.

As part of its global outreach, AMPP engages with various organizations worldwide to elevate corrosion control standards. These collaborative efforts aim to benefit all countries and associated entities by fostering a unified approach to enhancing industry standards.

"As we look ahead, this partnership with NIA stands as a beacon of progress in our quest for excellence in standards and practices within the corrosion and insulation sectors," Leonard said. "Together, we are setting a new benchmark for quality and performance, ensuring that our industries not only meet but exceed the expectations of today and the demands of tomorrow. This is just the beginning of a transformative journey for our members and the communities we serve."
