The Inhibitors Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data to study and disseminate information regarding the use of corrosion and scale inhibitors.

    The Inhibitors TCI Meeting will be held at AMPP 2024 on Wednesday, 6th March, 10:00 - 11:00am  in Room 231. There will be two excellent presentations so please attend if you are attending AMPP:

      • Presentation 1: "Pitting Initiation During Film Formation and Possible Implications for Corrosion Inhibitor Qualification", Jeremy Moloney, ChampionX
      • Presentation 2: "A novel theoretical framework for scaling inhibitors and its application towards commonly occurring oilfield scales", Gaurav Das, OLI Systems

    The TCI will form part of the TC05 Corrosion Management meeting which runs from 8am to noon and the full agenda is below. You can attend any sessions you wish.

    8:00 – 9:00         Mechanism Assessment TCI

      • Presentation 1: "Corrosion challenges in CCUS projects" Recent developments in CO2 corrosion research. Marc Singer (Ohio University)
      • Presentation 2: Measuring galvanic interactions between iron sulfide and iron carbonate covered surfaces to understand their role in localized corrosion of steel in sour systems. Angeire Huggins (DNV).

    9:00 – 10:00    Monitoring, Measuring, Inspection TCI

      • Presentation 1: "Increasing accuracy of corrosion monitoring for low water cut oil lines and localized Underdeposit corrosion" By Sonja Richter, ConocoPhillips
      • Presentation 2: "Corrosion monitoring and inspection of wet gas lines with varying CO2 content in Permian assets" By Ying Tsang & Vaibhav Nikam, Occidental Petroleum
