The Oil and Gas Materials Selection & Metallurgy Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data  for evaluation and methods of selection of types of metals for all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.

    Dear Colleagues,

    As we approach the AMPP Conference + Expo 2025 in Nashville, TN, we'd like to remind you that TC 03 Oil & Gas will be hosting Technical Information Exchange Meetings for the following Technical Communities of Interest (TCIs):

    Oil & Gas Materials Selection & Metallurgy – Technical Information Exchange

    Date: Tuesday, April 8, 2025

    Time: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM (US/Central)

    Location: Room 205 A&B

    Organizers: Flavia Kudla (fkudla@slb.com)

    This meeting will focus on new material developments, field experiences, best practices, lessons learned, and alloy performance evaluations for metals used in Oil & Gas equipment. Discussions will cover ongoing research, emerging HSE concerns, and pressing issues shaping our industry.

    Oil & Gas Materials Selection & Metallurgy – Test Methods Learnings Information Exchange

    Date: Tuesday, April 8, 2025

    Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (US/Central)

    Location: Room 205 A&B

    Organizer(s): Bill Kovacs (william.kovacs@dnv.com) and Octavio Albores (oalbores@tenaris.com)

    This session will focus on deficiencies and improvements in test methods, including TM0177, TM0198, TM0284, TM0316, and new methods per TM21451 (SOHIC), TM21452 (Ripple Load Test), and TM21453 (HSC of Welds). Additionally, novel test methodologies will be introduced and discussed.

    Meeting Format & Participation

    For years, these Technical Information Exchange Meetings have provided an invaluable platform for our industry experts to share knowledge and insights.

    To participate, please email the organizers with:

    • Your name and affiliation
    • The title of your presentation
    • A summary (to assist with planning)
    • Your presentation

    The format will be short presentations (6 slides maximum) followed by questions and discussion, which should take approximately 15 minutes in total.

    The meetings will be in-person only, there will not be formal presentations, slides will not be shared, detailed minutes will not be made.

    We look forward to seeing many of you in Nashville and engaging in productive discussions at the Technical Information Exchange Meetings!
