Hi Danielle,
I'm a member of the technical staff at EPRI and my team specializes in forensic analysis of power delivery system failures but also health assessments for samples removed from service at high consequence locations. The latter process is costly and labor intensive, so we have developed a inspection solution in the form of a screening technology for transmission, distribution and substations.
I am interested in speaking at the next AMPP meeting about our research on understanding atmospheric and subgrade corrosion. This presentation is specific to conductor corrosion but will have application to structures, foundations and hardware. We have also developed a process to forecast for climate change geographically, based upon empirical data with a resolution of 15 miles. We then visualize the results in a GIS based mapping system so that asset locations may be queried for a corrective action.
Please let me know if this is of interest.
