The Titanium, Zirconium and Other Reactive Metals Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data on alloy properties, grades, corrosion resistance, fabrication, and use of titanium, zirconium, and other reactive metals (e.g., niobium, tantalum), in process (chemical) industries.

  • 1.  IE Exchange at Corrosion 2023

    Dear colleagues,

    During the upcoming AMPP Annual Conference + Expo 2023, the Technical Committee 7 Process Industries - Titanium, Zirconium and Other Reactive Metals Information Exchange (TCI) meeting (former TEG 102X) will take place on Sunday, 9 March 2023 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (CST) Room 610-612 as an in-person event. This meeting is meant for sharing findings and experience related to additive manufacturing materials and corrosion properties and testing.

    During the information exchange meeting, informal presentations will be followed by questions and discussion (approximately 15 minutes per each presentation, including questions and discussion). The AMPP policies on commercialism are still required to be followed by both presenters and the audience members. The AMPP rules on "no recording or photographs" will be reiterated at the meeting. This exchange meeting is an ideal forum to learn what is new, what is going on in the communities and share concerns.

    We invite you to provide input to the information exchange meeting by introducing a topic (informal presentation). If you would like to do so, please send an email to Bill (william.macdonald@timet.com). Please include your name, affiliation, the title of your presentation and a few-lines summary that we will use for planning purposes.

    We are looking forward to seeing you in-person and welcoming you to the information exchange meeting.

    All, We are all looking forward to meeting with each other very soon.  The Reactive Metals session will be on Sunday starting at 1:00 pm Room 610-612.  We have four speakers lined up.

    Don Larson, ITA, will present Opportunities and Challenges for the Industrial Market

    Dennis Lamberth, Tricor Metals, will present Design & Fabrication Utilizing Corrosion Resistant Materials

    Nate Fairfield, Titanium Industries,  will present Copper and Nickel Supply Side Economics Make Strong Case for Titanium

    Bill MacDonald, Timet, will give an update on ASTM & ASME Reactive Metals activities

    Bill MacDonald, Timet, will give an update on Titanium 475 alloy
