This online community is a way for students to connect globally with other AMPP student members, helping each other develop and evolve. This community is to facilitate discussions about the different corrosion programs at different academic institutions world-wide, which could help students network as well as potentially decide where they would like to continue their studies/career.

    Hello AMPP Student Community,

My name is Richard Darko, a Materials Engineering graduate from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, with a focused interest in corrosion science, asset integrity, and metallic materials technology. My career vision is to be at the forefront of developing and implementing advanced solutions that enhance the reliability and lifespan of industrial assets worldwide.

I have built a strong technical foundation through my role as an Assistant Inspector at Tema Oil Refinery, where I contributed to non-destructive testing, corrosion assessment, and inspection programs in high-demand operational environments. This experience has strengthened my understanding of materials performance under real-world conditions and deepened my passion for proactive asset management.

I joined AMPP to engage with like-minded students and seasoned professionals, exchange technical insights on emerging corrosion prevention methods, and contribute to discussions that drive innovation in our field. My aim is to be an active contributor, continuously learning, sharing, and collaborating to advance the mission of AMPP.

    Best regards,

    Richard Darko
