    Ladies/Gentlemen,

    Good morning/afternoon/evening,

We have not yet identified someone to lead/manage the Chemical Technical Community of Interest.    We should appreciate that it is critically important for the future of Process Industries TC 07, Chemical TCI, that a current or newly registered member volunteer to lead/manage this TCI.

The Chemical TCI manager will have the full support of the Process Industries Technical Committee.  The Chemical TCI manager will be responsible for communicating with Chemical TCI members and encouraging them to participate in webinars and discussions, to bring forward materials and corrosion issues/challenges/experiences within the Chemical Industries, to develop topics and content for webinars and information exchanges, and to communicate potential needs for material/corrosion specifications unique to the chemical industry.

Chemical TCI will have a scope/content that likely will include covering commercial chemical processes, process equipment, the fundamental chemical reactions, descriptions and functions of process equipment and known/expected damage and corrosion mechanisms associated with a particular process.

We expect that the Chemical TCI also will develop/provide content, information and knowledge pertaining to manufacture/use/storage, materials & corrosion in inorganic acid industries/chemicals (such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric, nitric, hydrochloric acid), chlorine and sodium hypochlorite (bleach), and plastics manufacturing, to name a few industries/chemicals.

Once someone volunteers for the Chemical TCI manager role, we will move forward and schedule TCI manager training.

I urge you to help us sustain and grow the Chemical TCI by volunteering to lead the Chemical TCI.  If you would like to volunteer,  please contact me ASAP at wvalerioti@becht.com or bval58@gmail.com.

    Thank you.
