Hello to the members of the AMPP Technical Community of Interest (TCI) – Materials Applications & Experiences. As TCI manager, I want to welcome you and express my thanks to all of you for being members of this experience exchange group. Active participation in the TCI will be crucial to its success as a means for sharing our experiences to achieve the broader goal of ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets within the process industry. I strongly encourage you to also reach out to your business and industry colleagues and invite them to join and participate in our TCI...the larger the group the greater the opportunity!
A little bit about myself…
My name is Ben McCurry, and I am the discipline leader and SME for materials engineering & inspection for BASF Corporation in our North American region. I have over 20 years of experience in material selection, corrosion engineering and assessment, and forensic failure analysis for both metallic and non-metallic materials of construction as well as non-destructive testing and inspection. I have worked in oil and gas drilling/production facility construction, refining, and the chemical process industry and have experience in engineering design, fabrication/construction, plant operations, and maintenance.
I am looking forward to collaborating with you and eventually meeting you all in the near future.
