The Bridge Technical Community of Interest is a group of professionals (both AMPP members and nonmembers) that will include, owners, manufacturers, consultants, contractors and others who have come together to share and discuss issues affecting the bridge industry and new and emerging technology. Through the shared knowledge of this diverse group, both geographically and from varying viewpoints, information can be discussed about current issues for both the design phase and construction phase. This can include the selection of containment to surface preparation and materials, abrasives, coatings, solvents, etc. during the design phase and issues during the actual construction phase with the contractor’s submittals, means and methods. The sharing of knowledge on how to deal with structural issues that could be detrimental to the life of the newly applied system can be discussed along with new and emerging technologies and how they can be incorporated into bridge coatings to streamline those processes and possibly lower the overall costs.

As we are transitioning to hydrogen and hydrogen natural gas blends, considering that these technologies are not yet matured, there is a need to create a TCI that can identify and address challenges with the this industry. This TCI will provide a forum where the broad scope of the technical committees focuses on hydrogen specific issues. The TCI will monitor and asses hydrogen developments that are relevant to the AMPP community. In addition, the TCI will arrange seminars and other forums for industry, government and academic colleagues to participate in including AMPP Corrosion Conference, Corrosion Week and/or Fall Meeting.

As the 1^st STAG established in China, NACE STAG P70 will hold its 3^rd meeting on June 23, 2017. The focus of this NACE STAG P70 meeting is the failure analysis of the corroded process equipment in chemical producing sites. Each speaker will share their experiences, lessons and learnings about the typical corrosion failures in their sites or their customers’ sites and how they deal with the failures, on condition that no confidential information should be released.
