As part of our communications effort to bring awareness to corrosion and the importance of corrosion management systems, we are launching a new annual initiative: The NACE Spotlight on Corrosion project.
The goal of the Spotlight on Corrosion project is to raise awareness of the risks and expenses of corrosion – and the solutions for reducing them – among consumers, legislators, municipalities and the media. This will be done by focusing on the single-most pressing corrosion issue of the year, as determined by you, our fellows.
We are currently seeking NACE Fellows to serve as volunteers for our Signature Project Task Force, which will play a key role in the development of the Spotlight on Corrosion Report – a brief document that will focus on actionable solutions to the year's greatest corrosion threat.
The role of the Signature Project Task Force will be to:
- Determine the #1 corrosion issue of the year using information gathered from a survey of 1,350 NACE members;
- Select a current example of this issue and provide corrosion management solutions;
- Provide author recommendations for the Spotlight on Corrosion Report (3-4 pages);
- Provide editorial review of the Spotlight on Corrosion Report prior to publication.
The Spotlight on Corrosion Report will be announced during Spotlight on Corrosion Month in September, and will serve to launch a nationwide communications program.
Participation from our Fellows is critical to the success of this exciting new project. Please let us know if you would be interested in joining the Signature Project Task Force no later than Tuesday, April 25.
