Description:

The University Student Design and Applied Solutions Competition, administered by NACE International, challenges university student teams to design a system that can inspect for corrosion in hard-to-access areas. The student teams will demonstrate how that system works on a fixed structure that replicates hard-to-access areas such as those found within the corrosion industry. That structure has already been constructed and coated. A coatings inspector is needed to create a "key" for the judges to use to determine if the students are correct with their inspections. This coatings inspector is also needed to help with practice steel panels for the teams to use to practice. These panels have already been coated and the inspector will help us create areas of corrosion on them before we send them to the student teams. The Official Rules for the competition can be found at www.usdasc.com. The coating inspector must be familiar with these rules.

Qualifications: NACE Certified Coating Inspector - Level 3 with at least 7 years experience in coating inspection.

Requirements: Inspect for corrosion on fixed structure for final design competition taking place April 25-26, 2017, in Houston, TX. Help create areas of corrosion on practice steel panels.
