QP 10 – Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Accreditation

QP 10

Passive Fire Protection (PFP) accreditation

The AMPP QP 10 accreditation is used by facility owners or their protective coating specialists or specifying engineers to ensure that contractors hired to perform passive fire protection work have the necessary skills and experience. Passive Fire Protection is used to protect metal structures during a fire event to prevent structural degradation and failure. Organizations holding the QP 10 accreditation have the technical capabilities and organizational structure to do fireproofing work to a high standard.

Get The QP 10 Standard

The QP 10 program evaluates the qualifications of industrial passive fire protection contractors by evaluating the contracting firm annually through an on-site field audit where an independent AMPP auditor observes whether the contractor has the capability to evaluate and prepare the surface to be coated with intumescent or cementitious coatings for fire protection.
