Hello,

I was referred to this site/group and i am new to this. I have a delicate scientific instrument with several key functional parts made from AZ91D magnesium.  There are several sections of the parts that have critical dimensions with high tolerance of +/- 0.002". I am looking for advice for:

  • what is a good applicant to use for coating the part.  i have learned that conversion process is better than coating; it does not add thickness of coating layer.
  • Can you recommend a coating vendor that can help with this?

My coating criteria are:

  • Corrosion resistance - high priority
  • Thermal conductive - high priority
  • Electrically conductive - high priority
  • Rohs compliant - high priority
  • Decorative appeal - low priority

Thanks for your help and feedback.
