 De-energizing systems before line breaks

Hello everyone,

I understand it to be best practice to de-energize cathodic protection systems prior to performing a line break that is under cathodic protection. It is even in Section 80 of the CSA Canadian Electrical Code.

I would like to know if anyone else is aware of other standards or documentation that mentions this practice in detail. I have tried to find documentation on the topic but have come up short.

Thanks in advance for your help!
