AB-2 Specification and Soluble Salt Testing

Anyone familiar with SSPC AB-2 Specification and soluble salt testing?  We have several AISC Certification Fabrication shops across the US and none of us have been performing this unless contract documents require it.  I just realized cleanliness standards SP-7/6/5/10 all state follow AB specs for this.

Looking for a way to reduce this since it seems a bit excessive performing soluble salt testing 12 hrs / every shift.

I have contacted several other fabricators and other coating manufacturers as well as blast media manufacturers and no body has even heard of the AB Specs nor have they known soluble salts of blast media and the blast cleaned materials to be a problem.  Even checked with mills that ship from states using salt on roads or coastal areas.

If there isn't a way to reduce the frequency, what is the process of getting AMPP to give an official interpretation and / or changing the AB spec?
