Dear colleagues,
With some days left before reaching the deadline on July 19th for submitting your contributions for the AMPP 2027 Annual Conference we want to share the different symposia and forums within our TCI on Renewable Energies.
During the AMPP 2027 Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio there will be a symposium on Corrosion in the Biofuel and Biomass Industries. This symposium chaired by Dr. Sandra Le-Manchet is seeking for papers on corrosion phenomena, materials performance, degradation mechanisms, or mitigation strategies related to biofuel or biomass environments.
In addition, next year there is a special symposium on Corrosion and Scaling in Geothermal dedicated to the memory and legacy of Keith Lichti, whose remarkable contributions to the field of corrosion and materials selection in Geothermal have had a lasting impact on our community. Prof. Sigrún Karlsdóttir is welcoming submissions on topics including, but not limited to chemical and thermal conditions that accelerate corrosion in geothermal systems from wells and pipelines to power plant components, advanced materials and coating technologies that can enhance the durability and performance of geothermal infrastructure, and best practices for monitoring, maintenance, and case studies that demonstrate strategies for mitigating corrosion-related failures and extending the service life of geothermal assets.
Complementary to these symposia, Alex Delwiche and Angel Kowalski are organizing a Forum on Emerging Corrosion Issues in Solar and Wind Energy. This forum focuses on the emerging degradation mechanisms affecting assets related to Solar and Wind Energy and their impact on safety, reliability, and lifecycle costs. Emphasis will be placed on recent field experience, failure lessons, evolving standards, and practical mitigation strategies spanning design, materials selection, coatings, inspection, and maintenance.
Your contributions would help ensure that these important topics continue to gain visibility within the AMPP community. The submission portal is available under:
