The Marine Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data for studying the corrosion mechanisms, causes, effects, and corrosion control remedies for ships, structures, and equipment exposed to marine environments, and to disseminate information on the research, development, and performance of materials, coatings, and improved or innovative methods to mitigate problems related to marine corrosion.

    1. Introduction of attendees (In-person & Virtual)
    2. Welcome comments
    3. Presentation along with Q&A (45 Minutes)
      1. Presentation: Blotter Test – ASTM D4285/SSPC SP-1 Solvent Cleaning and the Usage of Paint Sticks and Wax Pencils
      2. Presenter: Dontrae Walls, Trades Business Foreman, Huntington Ingalls Industries
      3. Presentation Abstract: The presenter during the first half of their presentation will discuss the ASTM standard for blotter testing and what the requirements are for this procedure vs what has been observed in the field. The second half of the presentation will focus on surface preparation with respect to SSPC SP -1 Solvent Cleaning and the effects that markers such as paint sticks and wax pencils have on that process. This will be an interactive presentation with the audience.
    4. Updates from each TCI Manager (Bridge, Marine, Rail, Regulatory, Concrete, and Construction)
    5. TPC Infrastructure Insurance Task Force update
    6. Open discussion on current issues, and new and upcoming technologies that affect each of our TCI's and what role could AMPP play in support of future products, programs, and services.
