As we are transitioning to hydrogen and hydrogen natural gas blends, considering that these technologies are not yet matured, there is a need to create a TCI that can identify and address challenges with the this industry. This TCI will provide a forum where the broad scope of the technical committees focuses on hydrogen specific issues. The TCI will monitor and asses hydrogen developments that are relevant to the AMPP community. In addition, the TCI will arrange seminars and other forums for industry, government and academic colleagues to participate in including AMPP Corrosion Conference, Corrosion Week and/or Fall Meeting.

Hi SC26!! There is a lack of references and design codes for H2 Storage.

It is necessary to acquire knowledge about the behavior of materials in presence of H2 at >30 Bar and los temperatures (Tª< 90ºC). The projects are already in FEED stage and the requirements for Carbon Steel are carried out with regulations that do not correspond to the real scenario. The toughness and fatigue under these conditions should be checked but what is the most appropriate test or under what current standard?? What would be your best recommendation?

    Hi !

Have you checked article KD-10 in  ASME BPVC VIII div III ? you will find rules and recommended testing standards for testing toughness and fatigue in a hydrogen environment.

    All the best,

    Mariano
