The Cathodic Protection - Offshore Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data for Cathodic Protection that is utilized in offshore environments.

    Hi Everyone,

    I had hoped to originally take the CP2 Maritime course to get some pointed knowledge in offshore cathodic protection. With that class being phased out, I'm looking for advice on reading material or courses.

    If anyone in this community has a recommendation, please let me know!

    Hi Evan,

    Have a look at Deepwater's Technical Library.  There are 45 or so papers to peruse, mostly about offshore CP retrofit.

    Without being too commercial, we do offer an offshore corrosion / CP course: Offshore CP Course Outline but it requires a full class.

    The best (most specific) textbook I know on the subject of offshore corrosion is:

    "Marine Corrosion: Causes and Prevention" by Francis Laque ISBN:0-471-51745-3

    I haven't read these, but:

    Chris Googan published a new one in 2022: "Marine Corrosion and Cathodic Protection" ISBN: 103210581X 

    "Laque's Handbook of Marine Corrosion" also got an update in 2022.  ISBN: 1119788838
