The Oil & Gas Corrosion & Scale Inhibition Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data for the application and evaluation of chemical and physical methods of corrosion control and control of related problems, such as scale, bacteria, paraffin, and hydrates, for oil and gas.

    Hi everyone

    Our TCI is organizing a technical meeting during STE (Standards and Technical Exchange) week this October (Oct 30 through Nov 1).   We invite you all to attend.  We plan to have a few informal, technical presentations on our key topics of scaling, corrosion, and inhibition.  We will update you on the presentations in the next few weeks.   
    These are in-person meetings, so please try to attend if time and budget permits

    Our TCI is meeting at STE on in Tampa on Wednesday from 1-3 pm.   Here is a tentative agenda.

    1. Call to Order
    2. Introduce Attendees
    3. Discuss the new AMPP and TPC 
      1. Explain the purpose of the TC and this TCI and provide a description of the new AMPP Structure
      2. Explain what will be done in these sessions
      3. Answer questions that attendees have 
      4. Document recommendations that Attendees offer
      5. Discuss TCI meeting agenda and frequency
    1. Informal, Technical presentations
      1. Hans Sonke, Shell - Development of a Model for Prediction of the Mitigated Corrosion Rate, for Upstream Oil and Gas Applications
      2. Nihal Obeyesekere, Clariant - Combinatorial Chemistry and Robotics  to Develop New Products for Oil Field Applications
    1. Q&A and final discussion
    2. Adjourn

    There are tentative plans to have a joint meeting with the carbon capture TCI, so we will get to discuss many topics. 

    Lastly, there may be a way to join by web.  I'll get more information about it and send it out to you all

    Looks like a great agenda. Unfortunately, I will be leaving on Wednesday before the meeting.  Do you think that you will be able to share a copy of the presentations, maybe in the meeting minutes?

    Good day everyone

    I have an update to the TCI agenda for next Wednesday.   Due to travel schedule issues, we will not have our scheduled presentations.  I am sorry for disappointing those of you who were looking forward to the presentations.  we will still have a lot to discuss, so please do your best to be there in person or by video.  A big part of this meeting is to get each of us familiar with the new AMPP and Technology topic structure.
