The Oil and Gas Materials Selection & Metallurgy Technical Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data  for evaluation and methods of selection of types of metals for all types of equipment used for oil and gas production.

    Hello everyone,

    I would like to bring to the attention that a Technical Exchange meeting for the upstream Oil and Gas will be organized for the first time during the AMPP Standards and Technical Exchange in Tampa (FL). It is scheduled for Wednesday November 2, 2022 (1:00 pm - 3:00 pm)

    For those of you that remember the legacy NACE TEG's it will follow the same general format. There will be two to four informal presentations on technical challenges during oil and gas production. If you have a subject you wish to present please do so by replying to this thread.

    For now the advanced agenda is:

    1. Call to Order
    2. Introduce Attendees
    3. Discuss the new AMPP and TPC a. Explain the purpose of the TC and this TCI and provide a description of the new AMPP Structure b. Explain what will be done in these sessions c. Answer questions that attendees have d. Document recommendations that Attendees offer e. Discuss TCI meeting agenda and frequency
    4. Informal, Technical presentations;
      1. Hans Sonke - Development of a Model for Prediction of the Mitigated Corrosion Rate, for Upstream Oil and Gas Applications
      2. TBD
      3. TBD
      4. (tentative) AJ Gerbino - First-principle's approach to developing a scale deposition model, Step 1 - nucleation
    5. Q&A and final discussion
    6. Adjourn
