The Construction Technical Community of Interest is a group of professionals (both AMPP members and nonmembers) who have come together for the purpose of furthering a common cause by sharing wisdom, knowledge, information, and/or data for the construction industry. This group will include contractors, owners, manufacturers, consultants, and others from various industries (Bridge, oil, gas, marine, rail, etc.) to discuss issues affecting this community. This will also include new and emerging technologies as well. Topics may include production, equipment, labor force, training, materials, and quality control. Through the shared knowledge of this diverse group, both geographically and from varying viewpoints, information can be discussed that will address the needs of this community and provide solutions that will enhance the performance, steam line those processes and execution during the construction phase, and possibly lower the overall costs.

Welcome to AMPP Technical Committee TC 04 Transportation

As you may know, the AMPP Technical Program Committee has now launched Technical Committees (TC). My name is Tony Serdenes, and I am pleased to introduce myself to you as the Chair for TC 04 Transportation.  This committee is responsible for directing the activities of the following Regulatory (incl. DOT, FAA); Marine; Land (Rail) (To include Amusement Parks and Subways); Bridge (To include Tunnels); Construction; and Concrete Technical Communities of Interest (TCIs), where we hope you will be interested to participate and contribute to the technical exchanges.  Due to a recent adjustment of the TCs, the TC 06 Infrastructure has been eliminated along with car parks and swimming pools. The rest of the TCIs have been integrated into the TCIs of this TC as detailed above. The world has changed incredibly since legacy SSPC/NACE days and, with virtual working being more commonplace, we now have opportunities to meet more regularly, share more knowledge than ever before, and bring new and exciting topics for discussion throughout the year.  Here is a flavor of the type of interactions we have in store:

    • Technical Exchanges – where we can meet, discuss, present information, and network with our fellow TCI members
    • Focus Groups – for specific topics or activities, such as supporting upcoming Conference Symposia as authors, paper reviewers, and symposium officers
    • Task Forces – hot topics, for example, to consolidate and deliver information in response to a significant corrosion event
    • Workshops – to learn from our peers about new and emerging topics and technologies

We appreciate that the Technical Program has lacked visibility during its inception, and our members may have questions and concerns.  Please be assured that the TPC and our Technical Committee are ready, willing, and available to support the activities and growth of our TCIs, to ensure a great user experience, and to secure interest growth in our Technical Subject Matter.   We hope to see you soon and to share in these great activities with you - if your employer requires validation of your participation in the Technical Program, AMPP can issue a certificate to confirm the importance of your contribution to the success of our committees.

    How to Join the TCIs:

If you have previously participated in a legacy NACE STG or TEG and you wish to continue to contribute, you will find that the committee has been mapped to one of the new AMPP TCIs.  Please visit the AMPP website to view the Transition Map and find your TCI(s) – you will need to register to join!   If you have any questions about any matter related to the TPC or TC 04 Transportation, please drop us a message to the below e-mail address.  If you would like to take a more active role in the new TCIs, such as becoming a TCI Manager or leading a Task Force, please let us know of your interest and which TCI this relates to by writing in to:
