Overview

Earning this specialty shows employers and facility owners that you’re qualified to inspect insulation systems, identify CUI-related damage, and verify protective coating and jacketing conditions in accordance with AMPP standards.

Exam registration, payment, and exam scheduling are completed through your My Certification Portal.

Steps to certification

  1. Enroll and complete course requirements

    Successful completion of Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Course

    Successful completion of the Ethics for the Corrosion Professional course or an equivalent training

  2. Meet certification requirements

    Current Basic Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 1), Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 2), or Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 3) certification

  3. Take required exams

    Corrosion Under Insulation Exam (delivered via Meazure Learning / ProctorU)

Visit My Certification Portal to log and manage your work experience and Professional Development Hours (PDH's) needed. Your work experience and PDH's will be submitted as part of your renewal application but you can input PDH's at any time.
