Volunteer Bio  

Mohammed Hadi Abd Noor is a Senior Materials and Corrosion Engineer with over 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in corrosion control, materials selection, coating inspection, cathodic protection, and integrity management. He currently works with PetroChina International, where he has led cost-saving initiatives through optimized material selection, corrosion mitigation strategies, and pipeline integrity solutions that resulted in multi-million-dollar savings.


Mohammed holds an MSc in Corrosion Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, and a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Babylon. His master’s thesis focused on imidazoline-based inhibitors and steel surface heterogeneity in CO₂ environments, and his current research interests include corrosion fatigue, protective coatings, and environmentally friendly inhibitors for magnesium alloys and subsea pipelines.


He is an AMPP-certified Cathodic Protection Technician (CP-2) and an API 570 Authorized Piping Inspector.


Through volunteering with AMPP, Mohammed aims to share his technical expertise, support industry best practices, and contribute to developing innovative corrosion prevention solutions for global energy and infrastructure challenges.
