Murray Heywood has been in the paint & coating business 35+ years, essentially his entire working life. Murray grew up in paint and coating family business working for his Father in the early part of his career. Murray worked as an Applicator/Foreman/ Project manager and contractor until the age of 35.
In 1998 Murray decided to change directions and accepted a job as Industrial Sales Representative for ICI/Devoe Coatings. Since 1998 he has worked in various capacities for ICI/Devoe, International Protective Coatings, Sherwin Williams and Owner & Operator of Heywood Innovative Solutions (Coating Inspection and Consulting). Murray currently holds the position of Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Manager for Eastern North America for The Sherwin Williams Company.
Murray holds both NACE & SSPC Level 3 Certified Coating Inspector Certifications as well as holding a SSPC – PCS (Protective Coating Specialist), SSPC-CCI Certified Level 2 and Master Painters Institute (MPI) Architectural Coating Specialist certifications. In addition to his certifications Murray is a NACE and SSPC Instructor teaching the Coating Inspection Courses. Murray is currently sits on several SSPC Technical committees and is the current Chair of the Ontario Canada Chapter. Murray has recently had his article on “Rapid Return to Service Coating Systems for Wastewater” published in Environmental Science & Engineering Oct 2016 edition.
