A Senior Research Science Consultant with the Research and Development Center of Saudi Aramco. Completed B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry in 1988 and Ph.D. in 1997 in Physical Chemistry from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia. Has been in the field of corrosion for more than 25 years. Worked both in the lab and in the field, as scientist and as engineer. Spent one year as a visiting corrosion scientist with Prof. Schmitt in Germany. His research and technical work has covered a wide spectrum of the oil and gas operations starting from production all the way to refining and distribution. Part-time faculty member teaching graduate corrosion courses at the Materials Sciences Dept. at KFUPM. Current focus is on upstream corrosion management. Published technical articles in refereed journals, conference papers, technical reports, two book chapters, and made many regional and international presentations. The main author of two patents. Member of several technical committees specifically those related to the oil and gas industry.
