Overview

This specialty credential shows employers and asset owners that you’re qualified to inspect pipeline coatings, including surface preparation, coating application, quality control, and coating system integrity under AMPP standards. Exam registration, payment, and exam scheduling are completed through your My Certification Portal.

Steps to certification

  1. Enroll and complete course requirements

    Highly recommended completion of the Corrodere’s Pipeline Inspection eCourse

    Successful completion of the Ethics for the Corrosion Professional course or an equivalent training

  2. Meet certification requirements

    Current Basic Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 1), Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 2), or Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (CIP Level 3) certification

  3. Take required exams

    The Pipeline Inspector Theory Exam (delivered via Meazure Learning / ProctorU) can be purchased and scheduled through My Certification Portal.

Looking to renew your certification?

Visit My Certification Portal to log and manage your work experience and Professional Development Hours (PDH's) needed. Your work experience and PDH's will be submitted as part of your renewal application but you can input PDH's at any time.
