Hi Brent,
Thank you for the message. I chanced upon Criag's paper and didn't find anything else beyond it. But I did miss the one from you and Eric, which I had read when it was presented in 2021 conference , I think....... but failed to recall it on this occasion. Good to be reminded. Will go through it again.
Regards,

Hi Sreekar,
Please see attached reference. Eric Caldwell describes the "colourful" history behind the 1 wt% Ni limit reference in NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-2:2021. I think this will address some of your questions.
Please also review the literature by Bruce Craig, where he wrote several articles on Ni content in low alloy steels: B.D. Craig, J.K. Brownlee, T.V. Bruno, Corrosion 48, 2 (1992): p. 90.
Sincerely,
Brent

Subject: Ni steels for sour service
Hi Everyone,
I am searching for any historical data on sour service compatibility of Ni steels, 2 1/4, 3 1/2 grades in particular. While testing is necessary to prove its fitness for service, it would be useful to find industry experience on it. I gather, there isn't much on it probably because typically very low temperatures and sour service is uncommon.
Looking forward to any pointers.
Thank you.
