The Coating Application Specialist® Level 1 certification is intended for trainee applicators who already have practical experience and want formal recognition of their skills. The certification consists of a one‑hour exam.

Passing the exam (70% or greater) earns you the Coating Application Specialist Level 1 credential, demonstrating your ability to perform essential surface‑preparation and coating‑application tasks under supervision. This certification is a stepping stone to CAS Level 2, where hands‑on practical assessments expand your capabilities.
