The Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Community of Interest is a group of people (both AMPP members and nonmembers) assembled for the aim of investigating phase behavior, corrosion mechanisms and rates, and materials selection in CO2 separation, transport, and storage. The community aims to share experimental and experiential data, best practices, and recommendations for standards to further the safe development of CCS projects and assets globally.

Dear members of the community of interest on Carbon Capture and storage,

I am the newly appointed TCI manager for the technical exchange on this interested and strongly developing topic and I like to welcome you all to respond, post ideas and be an active member of this TCI.

I like to mention that we will schedule a face to face technical exchange meeting in the fall at Tampa, I will provide you with an update once more information is available.
I also like to make you aware of the development of AMPP Guide 21532  "Guideline for Materials Selection and Corrosion Control for CO2 Transport and Injection" at  AMPP via SC 20, I hope it will soon go for Ballot.
Besides the guideline I also published 2 papers that may be of interest to you: at CORROSION 2022 - paper 17726, and at IJGGC 114 (2022) ref. 103601, these may trigger some good starting points for discussions and comments. At Eurocorr 2022 in Berlin I will present some progress on the work in relation to CCS that I am involved in.

I look forward to hear from or meet with you.

    Kind regards,

    Hans Sonke
