Corrosion Prevention & Control (CPC) Management eCourse CPC planning is the most efficient method for effectively addressing and reducing the impact of corrosion at every stage of a product or facility’s lifecycle. This eCourse walks through the NACE SP21412-2016/SSPC-CPC 1 standard, diving into the key aspects of CPC planning for products and facilities. It covers: attributes that impact CPC planning; considerations for material selection and design to minimize corrosion; and items that should be addressed in CPC planning which affect CPC in design, fabrication and construction, operation and use, and maintenance and sustainability. Who should attend Anyone who is responsible for developing corrosion prevention and control policies or plans, including: Public and private facility owners Managers Technicians Suppliers Inspectors Procurement officers Project managers Purchase Course Learning objectives Understand the mechanisms of corrosion Understand the costs of corrosion across industry Recognize the importance of corrosion prevention and control planning Recognize the purpose of the CPC planning standard Identify the different components of the standard Identify the items or topics that should be addressed during CPC planning Possess a fundamental understanding of how this standard can be utilized as an effective tool during CPC planning Course completion Successful completion of the course is required to earn a certificate of course completion

Fellow Technical Activities members, I am pleased to bring you some excellent news regarding the new NACE Standards Board. On October 31 st , the NACE International Board of Directors unanimously approved both the new operating manual and the slate of initial members of the newly created NACE Standards Board. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, they also unanimously approved that the Chair of the NACE Standards Board will have a voting seat on the NACE International Board of Directors, effective March 2020. This continued support from the NACE International Board continues to demonstrate their commitment to our initiative to strengthen our standards program and position it to take our appropriate place as the leader for producing state of the art standards for the corrosion industry. The next step for the Standards Board is a two-day orientation and planning meeting to be held at NACE headquarters in Houston in late January
The NACE International Board of Directors has unanimously approved the membership slate of the new NACE Standards Board, and authorized its members to provide oversight and management of NACE International’s standards program
