CERTIFICATION Coating Application Specialist® (CAS) Level 1 Certification Exam This in-person certification exam validates your basic knowledge of surface preparation, coating application, and safety practices—helping you demonstrate competency on industrial and marine structures and prepare for higher-level certifications
For renewals, all credentials will require 1,000 hours of work experience, except for CAS Level 2 which requires 1,500 hours and 72 hours of formal training. IMPORTANT: For CAS renewals, you must meet the qualifications listed above. Please note that we no longer offer the option to retake the CAS Level 2 written exam if these qualifications are not met.
