Recruiting, Retaining, and Training the New Generation of Craftworkers

Are you currently working in blasting and application? If so, consider coming to this interactive program to map out the next steps in your career path.

On Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. local time, AMPP’s Melanie Diaz and Melissa Craig will join forces with Ken Seal, Tanner Carroll, and Jesús Martinez of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) and Chris Kucherawy of Conomos to present “Recruiting, Retaining, and Training the New Generation of Craftworkers.”

This workshop will cover craftworker training and certification, and how to get ahead in your career. It will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center, North 227 A–B.

This one-of-a-kind session connects craftworkers, contractors, and asset owners to discuss the benefits of pursuing a career in coatings application and blasting. A 15-minute keynote lecture on the craftworker’s career path transitions into a panel discussion featuring different perspectives that highlight industry partners from tenured craftworkers, those new to the industry, and asset owners and contractors. Their discussion will shed light on the current state of the workforce and how to find, attract, and retain qualified personnel.

Hear from those looking for credentialed workers and those who opted for a craftworker certification versus a four-year degree, and consider contributing to the dialogue on how we can plan for the industry’s future.
