When to Use 100% Solids Epoxy for Potable Water Linings

Eric Zimmerman, business development manager for water infrastructure at Sherwin-Williams Protective Coatings (Western North America), will deliver a technical presentation on Thursday morning on the advantages of using 100% solids epoxy as potable water linings.

In the presentation from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Phoenix Convention Center, North 222 A-B, Zimmerman will explain how the coatings landscape is changing in a dramatic way thanks to more  stringent VOC laws and extractables standards for drinking water. As a result, the product options that owners can rely on for lining their storage vessels are shifting.

The author will discuss the advantages of using high-film build, edge retentive, 100% solids epoxy technology for steel potable water storage tanks. The discussion will center around rapid curing and return to service, increased life cycle expectations, reduction in potential taste and odor issues, as well as the overall reduction in cost of ownership. It’s a great way to spend time on the final day of the final Coatings+ conference!
