Tanks store a variety of hazardous chemicals and substances that not only negatively impact their surrounding environment if the integrity of the asset is compromised due to corrosion, but leads to costly, unplanned downtime when tanks are drained for repair and maintenance. Today, there are upwards of 64,000 leaking storage tanks in the United States due in large part to Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) that is either unidentified or unmanaged.

This two-day (2.5 hours per day) virtual Corrosion Technical Series (CTS) short course brings together industry thought leaders to share their insights, lessons learned, and best practices focused on identifying and mitigating MIC in above and underground storage tanks. Experts will make the link between all areas of the industry, from research, to the service provider, all the way to the customer, to better understand the science behind the MIC phenomenon and practical knowledge to combat the program such as biocides and other mitigation tactics to apply to your job.
