Hello everyone and welcome to the Surface Preparation Technical Community of Interest (TCI-1).
This group is part of TC 01, Coatings Technical Committee. I am Paul Atzemis and I am the chair of the new TC 01 Coatings committee. TC 01 is one of 11 groups of the Technical Program Committee (TPC) that has been chartered by AMPP to help reorganize legacy NACE and SSPC groups (like STG's & TEG's) into a unified group for technical discussions and presentations on important topics in this field.  The goal is to create paths for open communication about current topics and to look forward to what we see as the future topics in our industry.

I know you have a lot of questions and concerns. Please feel free to reach out to me or anyone in the TPC or AMPP.  We are all excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and can't wait for these new groups to take shape and show the strength of AMPP as we move forward in the global coating industry.

Please rest assured, if you were part of an active STG or TEG in the legacy organizations, you will have a home in one of these AMPP committees.  Part of the re-organization includes verifying interest in the legacy committees.  Please reach out to us if you want to remain involved and have not been contacted yet.  If you were in a leadership role in those committees and want to remain in those roles, please reach out to me or Dustin directly.  We are currently recruiting active members and leaders.  If required for your employer, AMPP has offered to issue certificates to help show how important your contribution is to the success of our committees.

I look forward to our conversations.

    Paul

    #Hi Paul

    hope you are doing well!

If possible can you please lend some advice or guidance?

I have a upcoming project that requires me to remove about 80-100 sqm of Hastelloy C276 thermal sprayed wire with a hardness Vickers of  69.7 applied to 500-600 micron .

My Plan is to use Alox F16 for coating removal and surface prep 75-125 micron. Would you suggest this? and the probably the bigger question is what is the theoretical production rate in removal of this coating.

Your insights would dearly be appreciated !

I'm not sure how the communication on this form works so ill provide my personal email address that is linked to my AMPP membership

Best regards and hope to hear from you soon
