    Hello everyone!

One of the coolest things about this community is seeing you make connections with one another--it's incredible to watch friendships begin, grow, and change.

Our community gets bigger every day. Many of you already know one another, while others are brand-new faces. I feel like it's time that we (both new members and established ones) take a little time to introduce ourselves. Share your name, where you're from, your educational institution, what you are currently studying, and what you hope to gain from this community...or whatever else you want.

I'll kick us off: I'm Heather, the Director for membership at AMPP, working out of the Houston, Texas office. It's been a few years since I was in school; I am a graduate of Texas A&M University - whoop!!  (Yes, that is an Aggie thing.)  I believe building your network now can help you in the future as you look to enter the industry. My goal is to aid student members of AMPP to make connections now that will lead them into the future.

Welcome to your AMPP Student Community!

Hi everyone!  I am Heather Lowry and work with our EMERG Student Outreach Program, so I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of you. I am looking forward to getting to know those of you I have not yet met!

I have been at AMPP for 16+ years and previously worked with the (legacy NACE) NACE Foundation.  It has also been a few years since I was in college (okay, more like several years!), and I attended the University of Texas at Austin - Hook 'em Horns!  \m/

We are working to prepare a great program for students and young professionals in Denver in 2023 and I look forward to seeing you all there and getting your feedback on what we can do to improve going forward. Keep your eyes out for more information to come on what we have in store for you next year!

Hi! My name is Fatma Cerci. I am a chemical engineer, who lives in Ankara, TURKEY. As I joined the industry, I decided to improve myself in the fields of welding engineering and coatings beside my graduation degree. I attended METU, one of the most reputable universities in Turkey for my welding engineering degree. Then I decided to attending SSPC PCI courses. At first, I attend to SSPC PCI class in Ankara in March '19.  In 2021, I started my master's degree at Gazi University, Department of Advanced Technologies. My goal is to study chemistry and welding engineering academically and to be an inspector in the field. I received my AMPP CIP Level2 certification in September 2022.

Along with that, we have a family business (Maytem co.) where we train and certify welders for international projects, so I know the value of knowledge very well and I try to learn every day.

Personally, I would like to work on more qualified projects in the ever-growing industry and contribute to the development of Engineering in this region. In conclusion, as a student member, I also believe that it would be great to see more ladies in the growing industry.

Hi! My name is Mahdi Ghasemi. MSc. Offshore engineering from the University of Bologna, who lives in Italy,

as a coating inspector CIP level 1 I have got more than five years of experience in the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC). I worked on more than four projects offshore and three projects onshore. Supervision of pipeline coating(3LPE,3LPP, FBE) for offshore and Polyurethane for underground and storage tanks was a part of my experienced. More than four coating inspectors worked under my supervision for two new construction platforms, and three existing platforms.

As well as, I have published one book about Corrosion Prevention titled" Professional inspection of surfaces preparation" in the Oil and Gas Pipeline authentic journal in 2020. It should be noted that I am familiar with welding Inspector duties and NDT tests.

as you know, The future belongs to renewable energies such as (wind energy, solar energy, Hydroelectric energy,..) particularly offshore enery. so, we have to recognize new corrosion Challenges , and deal with them in order to minimize possible damages. therefore, I want to after Nace CIP level II, I'm going to participate in the Professional AMMP course such as:

at the end, I will thank AMPP group in order to give chance to new students and holds training course by professional teachers.

Hey all! I'm Christine Lajzo, and along with Heather Lowry I work with the EMERG Student Outreach Program. I oversee our academic scholarship program, and recognize many of you as past recipients!

I've been with AMPP for 9 years, previously with legacy SSPC.  I attended Penn State, Behrend and took a good bit of time beyond that to find my professional niche! I'd say what I like most about what I do for AMPP is helping students and young professionals to find, support and elevate their passion in the industry by taking full advantage of the resources AMPP has to offer. If you haven't already done so, make sure you check out our 2023 scholarship program, which is now open and accepting applications (barcode link in the flyer attached)! Feel free to contact me with any questions :)

I hope to see you in Denver at #AMPP2023!

Hello everyone! I am Bernardo Santos, MSc. in mechanical engineering, currently a PhD candidate in materials science at the Federal University of São João del Rei (UFSJ, Brazil). I have dealt with corrosion research since 2015 when I started as an undergraduate. Through the years, I developed research in several corrosion fields, mainly regarding the internal corrosion of oil and gas pipelines undergoing sweet and sour corrosion. From August/2021 to August/2022 I worked at the ICMT, Ohio University, on the inhibition project sponsored by TotalEnergies.

My career goal is to work with corrosion and materials research and development focused on the new challenges emerging from the industry's transition towards renewable energies. Then, after finishing my PhD I will be looking to work in a position that allows me to balance the knowledge acquired in academia with the necessities in the field. I am glad to be able to expand my network belonging to this student community provided by AMPP.

    Hello everyone!
I am Unissa Nichul from India. I am a Ph.D. scholar from the  Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, India. I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated researcher, always willing to do purpose-oriented research. My research is based on the effect of corrosion on metals and its prevention technique in biomedical (dental) and marine applications (ship hull). My research is focused on altering the crystallographic texture of bulk material to limit the corrosion attack from atmospheric effects or any hostile condition.
I too work on defense-related live projects and supervised around 12 M.Tech students in their corrosion-related projects.
Recently, I filed a patent based on a biomedical application based on the prevention of corrosion.
Now, I am looking for a Post-doctoral position at a university for more extensive research. After joining AMPP, now I am getting aware of corrosion-based research, projects, universities, workshops, and conferences.

I would like to thank AMPP for providing such an active platform for exchanging ideas across the world.

Hello everyone, Mike Ritz, Seward, Alaska. for the past 10 years, my wife, and I have owned, and operated Alaska Marine Coatings in Seward, Alaska, we have prepared, and coated primarily tanker barges, ,tugboats, and commercial fishing vessels. Prior to Alaska Marine Coatings, I worked in several shipyards in the lower 48, ( states not close to Alaska for those of you south), holding several different positions running both repair, and new construction projects in the maritime industry. As I get older, my wife and I made the decision, to pursue further education, and certifications for inspections, I'm getting a little too old to to perform the various functions that I serve with our small marine coatings business. I've been involved with estimating, project management, inspections, and safety in shipyards for over 20 years, and hope to make acquaintance with others, share my experience, and learn from others as I move forward. I earned certified coatings inspector, cip level 2 back in March, and recently completed the concrete coatings basics, using SSPC-PA 2 effectively, & Pipeline Coatings Inspector ecourses. It has been a 20 year dream to achieve senior certified coatings inspector, ( cip level 3), and look forward to learning from others interested in all things coatings, networking, and maybe becoming friends with a few. Look forward to participating with this group!
