Keith is presently Principal Consultant Asset Management for Quest Integrity NZL Limited with a focus on technical work. Keith has held many technical and managerial positions within New Zealand government departments and Crown Research Institutes, initially in the former New Zealand Government Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and latterly in Industrial Research Limited. The metallurgy and corrosion teams in IRL, MPT Solutions Ltd, became part of a privately owned company in August 2006, Quest Reliability Limited (from September 2007), now Quest Integrity NZL Limited. Quest Integrity became a part of Team Industrial Services in November 2010. Keith’s current R&D activities are focused on geothermal materials selection and use under acid well conditions and under pH adjustment as is used for delay of silica polymerization of lower temperature brine solutions for increased efficiency of geothermal energy extraction. The work is aimed at methods for control of corrosion and understanding of mechanisms for heavy metal deposition and influence of heavy metals on localized pitting corrosion.
The present focus is on thermodynamic modelling to predict the risk of heavy metal deposition in geothermal two-phase and brine fluids used for energy production in conjunction with GNS Science New Zealand.
